Right or wrong free essay sample
Is there a clear difference between right and wrong? Well, it all depends on what one has been trained to believe. When answering this question one must include many factors, such as religious morals and values, environmental influences, society, and etc. One might believe that stealing to provide for their family is okay, but another knows that you do not steal, no matter what the circumstances may be because it is wrong. As with the given example, what one person may think is wrong, may be right to another person. Right and wrong are human values. We have to determine for ourselves what we believe to be right or wrong. Today we make our decisions according to what society believes is right or wrong and what we are taught. Society believes lying can be wrong in most situations, but not in all situations. Right or Wrong? How many times must an individual be faced with those three words in a lifetime? What makes them choose one or the other? Is the right choice always necessarily the moral choice? Who decides what is right or wrong? These are all relevant questions in this struggling issue in life. We will write a custom essay sample on Right or wrong or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Could the belief in karma be enough for one to lead a good moral existence? The finger is always pointed towards ones self interest and ones outcome of their decisions. In Thomas Nagels paper, Right and Wrong, Nagel attempts to explain the differences and the thoughts behind right and wrong decisions. He makes references to personal benefits, religion, and punishments of decision-making. Nagels paper truly defines thought processes as well as how human beings come to decide life choices and pathways for their futures.

Cultural Critique Essay Topics
Cultural Critique Essay TopicsCultural critique essays are conducted in a wide variety of settings such as classroom, college and university, writing seminars, debate and book clubs. In this type of writing, cultural criticism is a critical approach to an issue that often pertains to the study of culture and its impact on the human body, mind and soul. It provides a critical analysis of how people perceive certain cultural ideas or beliefs and how these beliefs affect their lives. The application of cultural critique essay topics is critical because the arguments it presents to both, the audience and the writer themselves must be well-informed and well-argued.The best way to analyze any essay topics is to have it analyzed by another who is knowledgeable in that area. You can request an essay topic analysis from any of the resources that offer this service. Once you obtain the information, all you need to do is go through the suggestions and see what they suggest that best fits the es say topic. There are some points that should always be included in any culture critique essay topics: the purpose of the essay, what the essay will accomplish, what ideas the essay examines, the main topic, the theme of the essay, and how to structure the essay. The theme of the essay is also important because it sets the tone for the rest of the essay topics. The first person perspective is a critical point in the application of cultural critique essay topics. By including your viewpoint in the essay, you may help students better understand their own individual experiences. The power of culture in shaping the thoughts of the general public will be a key element in cultural critique essay topics. Thus, the essay should focus on how ideas from one culture a re reflected in another culture and how different beliefs from other cultures have affected the world we live in today. In the application of essay topics, the importance of the perspective and a student's view of the world and society is an important element. For example, if you are writing about a certain area in Africa, you may want to include details about the fact that many African people don't wear clothing with skulls and bones. You may want to include this in your essay if you feel this information could shed some light on a particular subject. In addition to cultural critique essay topics, the arts should also be part of any essay or research paper. If the writing has music, poetry, drama, dance or drama included in it, it will be easier for readers to understand what you are trying to say in your essay.

The proponents would also like to thank their parents for supporting them, telling them to never give up and to think positive. Last but not the least; the proponents would like to thank God Almighty and his son Jesus Christ for answering their prayers and giving them strength to continue on despite them wanting to give up on making this project. ABSTRACT Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear Order and Customer Record System is a system that records customer transactions, customer information and prints an acknowledgement receipt, customer transaction report, and daily, weekly, monthly, and annual customer report, the system was made using Visual Basic and Microsoft Access 2007. The reason why this system was made is to help the beneficiary record customer transactions easily, because currently, they record customer transactions using only pen and paper. This system aims to make recording customer transactions and printing customer reports easier and faster, and has a user friendly interface. This system helped the beneficiary work easier and faster, they can now many records for a short time, they now have a printed acknowledgment receipt, customer transaction report and sales report. The beneficiary and the panellists were satisfied at the system the proponents have made. LIST OF FIGURES Figure 1: Beneficiary Map Figure 2: Queenââ¬â¢s Gown Organizational Chart.. Chapter I INTRODUCTION BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT COMPANY PROFILE Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear is owned by Mrs. Lilia Pertacorta. It is located at #33 18th Street East BajacBajac, Olongapo City Zambales. Queenââ¬â¢s Gown was established in year 1996, and it has a total of 5 to 10 employees and serving 50-75 customers per day. They also rent clothes and their gowns are worth 500 pesos and up depending on the type and fabric used. LOCALE OF THE STUDY Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear is located at #33 18th St. East BajacBajac, Olongapo City Queenââ¬â¢s Gown Gown A. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE Mrs. Lilia Pertacorta Owner Ma. IT FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT OF THE BUSINESS Equipment| Quantity| Television| 1| Electric Fan| 3| Sewing Machine| 3| Flat Iron| 1| GENERAL OBJECTIVE To make a user friendly system that can record customerââ¬â¢s information and orders. The researchers had an analysis and general objectives to improve and propose a computerized information system and produce a system that would ease the flow of Queenââ¬â¢s Gown Rental. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 1. To save customer information. 2. To add, update, and delete customer transaction records. 3. Generate customer transaction report. 4. Add, edit, search, move and cancel orders 5. Add, edit, search, move and cancel rents 6. Uses login to access the system . View all the necessary information about the rents and orders SCOPE AND LIMITATION The project will be focus on the ordering process of Queenââ¬â¢s Gown, the customer information they put on every order and generating a report of all the transaction made by the customer. The System is composed of buttons which you can add; edit, delete, search, and a main form which includes add reco rd, info entry, and view report. We also have a Log-in form. This button and form can only be used by the owner. The proposed system includes the processing of costumers information. The limitation of this project is that there are no other functions and features in the system, this project will only focus on the ordering process of Queenââ¬â¢s Gown. The limitation of this project work is that it only prints a receipt but not to compute sales because it doesnââ¬â¢t tackle the payment of the Company and it only focus on the ordering and rental process of gowns and menââ¬â¢s wear . The other items of the company like a masquerade, crowns and etc. , are not supported by this system. CHAPTER II CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE OF STUDIES Project System requires a good understanding of the topic being investigated. For this reason, a conceptual framework needs to be drawn up to guide the direction of the development of the projects. Review of related literature is a study whereby new information can be generated. In carrying out research, one of the fundamental requirements is to be able to define clearly the direction of the study. If the issues are not clear in the researchers mind, it is easy to wander away from what needs to be investigated. The conceptual framework works like a map that sets the direction of research or thesis writing. One of the significant steps in a research project is conducting the literature review. Through this chapter, the readers can familiarize with the study of the proponents. The related and previous studies presented in this chapter would give the readers and future researchers, an idea of the proposed system of the proponents. The proponents selected and reviewed these studies and previous works to provide information for the readers. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear, they will input his information, if it is a new costumer they will input all needed information and saves it to the customer database, if it is an old customer, they will just find his name on the database and all of the information will appear. After saving the transaction, it will be saved on the transaction database. A customer transaction report that records all transactions for a certain costumer, an acknowledgement receipt which will be given to the customer and sales report. OPERATIONAL DEFINITION OF TERMS * Acknowledgement Receipt A documentedà verificationà thatà goodsà have been received orà servicesà have been rendered. Typically, theà acknowledgementà is indicated by theà recipientsà signatureà on aà bill of lading, anà invoiceà or anotherà form. Information -Data that has been verified to be accurate and timely, is specific and organized for a purpose. * Transactions- An agreement between a buyer and a seller to exchange an asset for payment. * Sales Report A report made in a certain time showing the number of items sold or the amount of money a company has received for selling stock CHAPTER III SYSTEM ANALYSIS SYSTEM OVERVIEW Flowchart and DFD of the existing system DFD OF MANUAL SYSTEM Figure 3: DFD of Manual System START INQUIRE ITEMS ORDER OR RENT ORDER RENT ITEMS ITEMS MANUALLY RECORDS TRANSACTION MANUALLY RECORDS TRANSACTION END ATART ATART Figure 4: Flowchart of Manual System STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The following are the problems encountered from the current system of Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear which is in the manual process: * subject to records lost * waste of time by scanning rental record book * employees record customer transactions using pen and paper only, * their acknowledgement receipt is handwritten * manually encode their customer reports PROPOSED SOLUTION Those problems stated can be solved in this system. This system records customer transactions easily and quickly. You can save the customerââ¬â¢s needed information so if the same customer orders again, no need to type his information, just search his/her name on the customerââ¬â¢s list and his information will automatically appear. This system can generate customer reports and acknowledgement receipt by just a click of a button. For the ownerwhose involved in the capture, processing and the inputting of data in thesystem, an information data only as good as the data inputted, poor data will lead to poor results being outputted, incomplete or in accurate information means outputted information will being complete or inaccurate. PEREZ| -Coding -Debugging-Gathering information for the system-Design Project System -Making Documentation-Userââ¬â¢s Interface| -Paper Works-Making Letters-Making Presentations-Making Documentation| Chapter V SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS SUMMARY OF FINDINGS When we are concerning the manual process of maintaining a rental records regarding customerââ¬â¢s information, the major problem is the waste of time that is completely dependent on human actions which couldnââ¬â¢t be free from errors. The manual system is difficult to managed that is why we the researchers find ways to propose this new system. This project is designed so as to be used by Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wear specializing in renting gowns and menââ¬â¢s wear to customers. It is a system through which owner can view available items and rented gowns. The development of the new system include such as saving time, reliability, and for the records to be safe kept and to improved their current system by making it computerized for faster and more efficient way in handling transaction for their customers. And all the stages of the transaction procedure will be facilitated by the system. It will provide a user friendly interface, access levels to ensure the integrity of the data stored in the system. CONCLUSIONS This Gown Rental Management and Information Systemfor Queenââ¬â¢s Gown and Menââ¬â¢s Wearis so important in dealing with the ownerââ¬â¢s daily need of keeping rental records and customer transactions. Especially during occasional times wherein there are lots of customers who wanted to rent gowns, this would help much. Typing is much better than of writing for easy saving changes like editing wrong information, adding new items, updating available and rented items, making acknowledgement receipts, and generating sales reports for the said beneficiary. RECOMMENDATIONS Before creating a system, you must first know the purpose of the system; plan the system flow first before making the actual system, gather all the data needed for the system, and set priorities. In creating a customer record system, you must make it very user friendly. If possible, do not put many forms in the system, put multiple functions in only 1 form so the system wonââ¬â¢t be confusing to use, like this system, most of its functions like, adding, deleting, editing, updating transactions, print receipt, print sales report and the transaction list are all on the main form. In designing the look of the system, make it simple; In the design, use colors that are pleasing to the eyes, the text and the buttons in the system should be readable and avoid too much gimmicks on the system like splash screens, unnecessary message boxes etc. This rental system is already a running system yet need more development especially the design in showing the lists of the customers who rented certain item/s. 2017 2018 Full Review of Every SAT Test Date
2017 2018 Full Review of Every SAT Test Date SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Deciding when to take the SAT can be stressful because the best test dates aren't the same for everyone. Levels of preparation, goal scores, and other academic conflicts should all be considered in devising the most logical testing schedule for each student. The following is a full description of the pros and cons of each SAT test date in the 2017-2018 school year for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. You can use this guide to come up with a game plan that works for you! 2017 Test Dates These fall dates are usually best for juniors taking the test for the first time or seniors trying to improve those last few points to reach their goal. August 26, 2017 Sophomores This is probably too early for incoming sophomores to start taking the SAT. You most likely won't have learned all of the concepts that are being tested. Additionally, you probably won't know what your college goals are yet. It's better to hold off until you have a clearer idea of what colleges you are aiming for and thus what scores you are targeting. However, this is a great time to start preparing for the test. Junior This is a good first test date for juniors. You will know pretty much all the concepts that are tested and you will have time to prep over the summer. Plus, you'll have plenty of potential dates to retake the test later if you want to improve your score. Seniors If you're hoping to retake the test one last time before application season gets in full swing during your senior fall, this is a solid test date choice. You will also be able to devote time in the summer to studying so you can really improve your scores. This is also a good choice if you haven't taken the test at all because then you will have time to study and retake in November or even December if you need to. October 7, 2017 Sophomores Sophomore fall is too early for most students to begin taking the SAT because you may not have learned all the concepts that are tested. You can feel free to begin preparing at this point by doing practice questions or getting review books, but you should hold off on taking the test for realuntil you know exactly what youââ¬â¢re dealing with and what your score goals are. Most sophomores havenââ¬â¢t yet begun their college search, and knowing where you plan on applying is important in nailing down a target score. Juniors This is a good date for juniors to take the SAT for the first time. You will have learned pretty much all the concepts that are tested. Plus, You'llhave plenty of time after you get your scores back to study for test dates later this year if youââ¬â¢re still unsatisfied with your performance. Seniors If you want one last shot at the SAT after preparing over the summer, this is a good date to take it if you can't make the August 26 date.Itââ¬â¢s before youââ¬â¢re too stressed out about college applications, and if youââ¬â¢re applying early decision youââ¬â¢ll still have plenty of time to send colleges updated score reports. QAS is offered on this test date! QAS is short for Question-and-Answer Service, which is a completeguide to your scores that will help you review them in more detail. It can be very useful in preparing for future retakes because you'll be able to see all the original questions, their difficulty levels, their types, and which you answered correctly and incorrectly. This can tell you a lot about the nature of your mistakes and how you might be able to avoid them going forward. QAS is offered for the October, MARCH, and May test dates. For the other dates, you'll be able to order the SAS, or Student Answer Service, which is a less comprehensive version of the QAS. PSAT Test Date: October , 2017 It's important to keep this date in mind if you're a sophomore or junior and plan to take the PSAT in preparation for the real test. You might shift your test-taking schedule forward or backward to accommodate the PSAT if you're worried about getting testing fatigue. Spending too many weekend mornings filling in little circles in unfamiliar classrooms could make anyone go crazy. November 4, 2017 Sophomores Iââ¬â¢d say this is too soon to take the test as a sophomore unless youââ¬â¢re extremely well-prepared.Itââ¬â¢s tough to know what your score goals are at this point because you probably havenââ¬â¢t started seriously looking at colleges. If youââ¬â¢re concerned about the SAT already, just take a practice test or the PSAT to get a better idea of what youââ¬â¢re expected to know and how much you need to prepare before you take it for the first time (ideally junior fall). Juniors This is another solid date for juniors to take the test for the first time.If you miss the October date, itââ¬â¢s a pretty good option unless you're taking the PSAT in late October and are worried about getting overwhelmed with too much standardized testing at once. If you take the SAT in November, youââ¬â¢ll still have a pretty solid buffer between getting your scores back and the test dates in spring 2018. Seniors This is the latest date for seniors who are applying to college early decision to take the SAT.Most schools still allow scores from the November test date to be submitted along with early decision applications even though the deadline has technically passed, but check the policies at your chosen colleges before signing up for this test date.If youââ¬â¢re applying regular decision this is a decent test date for you, although you might be busy preparing other components of your application. In general, Iââ¬â¢d aim for August or October instead. December 2, 2017 Sophomores This is, again, a bit early, but thereââ¬â¢s nothing wrong with taking the SAT at this time if you feel confident in your abilities.Don't stress yourself out too much about the SAT yet, though. If youââ¬â¢re curious about where you stand score-wise, Iââ¬â¢d suggest just taking a timed practice test so you can see what you need to work on before you attempt the real test for the first time. Juniors This might be a tough time to take the SAT if you have big mid-year tests coming up or are distracted by the holidays.Still, if you didnââ¬â¢t get a chance to take it earlier in the fall, this could be a decent option.Itââ¬â¢s well before the test dates in late spring and summer, so youââ¬â¢ll have time to look at your scores and study constructively before a potential retake in May, June, or August. Seniors For some schools, this is the last date that you can take the SAT and still submit your scores with a regular decision application. If you took the SAT in October as a senior and still are not happy with your scores, this might be your last chance to retake.Donââ¬â¢t focus on improving slightly on the SAT over completing the rest of your application, but if you wantone last chance this date is your best bet. Make the most wonderful time of the year even more so by taking the SAT! Can you say comfort and joy 2018 Test Dates Spring and summer dates will be too late for most seniors, but they are ideal for juniors and ambitious sophomores. March 10, 2018 Sophomores This is the earliest I would suggest taking the SAT as a sophomore. Some concepts that come up on the SAT are typically taught sophomore year.Itââ¬â¢s best to wait until youââ¬â¢re more than halfway through the year so youââ¬â¢ll know what youââ¬â¢re doing on most of the questions even if you havenââ¬â¢t prepared much.If you take the test on this date your sophomore year, youââ¬â¢ll have a solid five months to review your scores and study for upcoming junior year test dates. Juniors This is actually a pretty good time to take the test as a junior because it won't conflict with most mid-year tests and finals.Youââ¬â¢ll also have enough time to review your scores from fall test dates and make meaningful progress. You will get back your scores far in advance of senior year, and you can even retake the SAT in May, June, or even August if youââ¬â¢re hoping to finish up standardized testing this year. Seniors Itââ¬â¢s too late by this point for seniors who applied to college this year to take the SAT.Make sure you get in your last chances earlier in the year if youââ¬â¢re still not satisfied with your scores. QAS is offered on this test date! May 5, 2018 Sophomores If you want to get started early and feel you are up to speed on all of the topics covered by the SAT, this could be a good date for you to take the test for the first time.Youââ¬â¢ll get back your results in June and be able to use them to prepare for your first retake in August or in junior fall.At this rate, you could finish with standardized tests before you even start filling out college applications. Juniors This is a good time to take the SAT as a junior because it will probably happen before your finals, and youââ¬â¢ll get your scores back right at the beginning of the summer.Youââ¬â¢ll have the whole summer to review your results and continue studying if necessary. The only issue with this date is that it might conflict with AP tests. If youââ¬â¢re in AP classes and are worried that youââ¬â¢ll be overwhelmed, Iââ¬â¢d suggest taking the SAT in March, June, or August instead.Ideally, this will be your second time taking the SAT after your first attempt junior fall. QAS is offered on this test date! June 2, 2018 Sophomores Like the May test date, this might be a reasonable option for sophomores who feel prepared and are hoping to use this as a jumping off point for a retake junior fall. The main issue is that as a sophomore youââ¬â¢re more likely to take fewer AP classes and more regular classes that have finals that conflict with this test date.If you plan on taking the test sophomore spring, Iââ¬â¢d suggest May over June. If both dates conflict, you could also do the August date. Juniors This is another reasonable testing option for juniors, especially those who feel confident about the test and have already prepared extensively.Sometimes, this can be better than the May test date because it doesnââ¬â¢t conflict with AP tests. However, it may conflict with regular in-class finals. You could also do the August test date if both dates conflict. August 25, 2018 Advice for this date is similar to advice for the 2017 August date: if you're a sophomore, this is too early. But this is a great choice for a junior taking the test for the first time or a senior who is taking the again before application season. After the test, you can get back to sitting around bonfires with your friends and being mad when someone else steals the seat right next to your crush so you can't wallow in one-sided sexual tension for hours (high school was a tough time for me). When Should You Take the SAT? There are seven SAT test dates offered over the course of the 2016-2017 school year, so you have lots of choices, particularly if you're a sophomore or junior. If you plan on taking the SAT as a sophomore, you should probably wait until the second half of the year. The top three dates for sophomores are May 2017, June 2017, and March 2017 in that order. As a junior, you could choose to take the test at any time during the year. You'll have to make an informed decision based on how prepared you are. The best strategy for most people is to take the SAT in August, October, or November, study from the results, and go for a retake in either May, June, or the following August. You might fit in a third test date in the winter, but only if you feel that you have the potential to improve substantially from your fall scores. If you'll be a senior and want to take the test one last time, your best bet is the August test date followed by the October date, which come before the hectic application season. November is also a possibility. I'd try to avoid taking the test as late as December, but if one of this datesis the only one that works for you and your schools will accept scores from tests taken that late in the year, then those are acceptable last-resort options. It's a great idea to plan out your testing schedule in advance so you don't forget to sign up for an important date. Consider the advice in this article and your college plans to come up with the best way to structure your standardized testing over the course of the upcoming school year! What's Next? Two Complex Crises that preceded the Civil War Assignment
Two Complex Crises that preceded the Civil War - Assignment Example Northerners were not universally concerned with the humanitarian aspects of slavery, but they were almost unanimously against the growing political power of the Southern landowner. The Southern states had a disproportionate power in the House of Representatives and in the Electoral College due to the 3/5 count of slaves. By 1819, this rule boosted the membership of the Southern states in the House by 17 representatives. While this seems like backwards thinking, since of course if the slaves were to become free citizens they would receive a full count in the House of Representatives, those votes would likely fall in the same theme as those of the Northern anti-slavery states. This would help re-balance the scales in the House, the same way that admitting states in pairs between slave-owning and free states balanced the power in the Senate (Howe, 150). In order to settle this debate about the balance of power, Henry Clay helped to mediate the historical Missouri Compromise, which agree d that slavery would be prohibited in the new territory north of the line of 36 degrees 30' latitude. For the South, this compromise ensured the continuation of their ideal that there would be no end to slavery without the consent of the local white population, by majority vote. It also set as a principle what had already been the precedent, that states should be admitted into the United States in pairs, continuing the balance of power in the Senate between the two (Howe, 154). What could be considered the most important outcome of this compromise was that it solidified and clarified the viewpoint of the South toward emancipation. The situation surrounding the Missouri Compromise sHowe,d that even those Southerners who had a more moderate stance toward slavery in theory, when it came down to practice they were obviously against even gradual emancipation (Howe, 155). While the Missouri Compromise prevented the Republican party from falling apart along the lines of the Northern and So uthern states, it did later result in the the further division of Congress because of the practice of admitting states in pairs (Howe, 155, 836). The political party in the South known as the Radicals was gaining political power. These Radicals feared that the Missouri Compromise might lead to further compromises on the issue of slavery, and eventually end with the outlawing of all slave-owning practices (Howe, 402-403). Part 2: The Nullification Crisis This fear linked to a later controversy, the Nullification Crisis. This crisis centered around the Tariff of 1832, as the Radicals linked such tariffs with emancipation efforts (Howe, 402-403). This nullification would result in the removal of the federal price on land sales. If the group could pressure other states into following their lead on the tariff they could use it for slavery and protect the institution (The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History). In 1832, South Carolina declared federal tariff on land sales to be voi d, and raised an army to defend this nullification (The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History). The bill passed that nullified the tariff also mentioned the threat of secession from the Union if the tariff was not repealed (Howe, 404). President Jackson declared nullification illegal and had Congress pass the Force Act, which allows

Discussion - Coursework Example One example of incidences of groupthink in workplaces is the financial malpractices. Financial department falls prey of groupthink by engaging in unethical malpractices that lead to losses in the Airline industries. It is argued that groupthink influenced the Foolhardy Risks that was characterized by heinous scandalous behavior. Groupthink can be addressed through professional awareness of the psychological phenomenon of the problem. Therefore, through awareness workers are encouraged to outline their individual decisions rather than offering unanimous decisions on decisions. These strategies ensure that unethical decisions are rectified before the group agrees them. For example, a decision to spend $10 billion on buying more aircraft by the American Airlines would require an analysis of the cost benefit of the venture. Individual decisions would offer different analysis from different perspective of group members. Thus, combinations of the ideas and ethical views minimize the problem of groupthink in organization

The Body And Effects From Massage Physical Education Essay
The Body And Effects From Massage Physical Education Essay Massage and joint movement increases blood supply to bones, this helps nutrition to flow, feeding growing bones. The increased blood flow helps get rid of waste matter. Massage improves posture.Ã Brings good body tone and balance, reducing stress on joints and bones.Ã Posture will improve when the muscles are relaxed and lengthened. Poor posture impacts on the other systems of the body. For example sitting slouched with drooped shoulders and tight pectorals in a slumped posture will stop the lungs from fully expanding. Massage can improve mobility.Ã If a person had stiffness and restricted mobility within their joints, massaging with passive movements can ease the joints improving their range of movement. This is caused by the warming up of the synovial fluid within the joint making it more fluid. Movement causes a release of fresh synovial fluid into the joint, lubricating a dry joint. A dry joint will cause friction and pain. Also any thickening of the connective tissue may b e reduced helping to release restrictions in the joint. It helps to loosen adhesions, improve scar tissue and reduce inflammation, helping to improve mobility to stiff joints. Massage reduces physical stress placed on bones and joints which improves muscle tone and balance. Ã Due to increased lymphatic and blood flow stimulated by massage red blood cells are released from bone marrow, which improves overall health and energy as they carry oxygen through the body. Muscular System There are three types of muscle in the body. Skeletal muscles are voluntary muscles that work with the connective tissues to allow movement in the body. When we want to move our brain sends impulses to the muscles to make them move. Cardiac muscles form most of the hearts wall. They are called the myocardium and are involuntary muscles. They contract to make our heartbeat. Visceral muscles are also involuntary. These muscles are smooth and form the walls of the viscera. Visceral muscles are those that help move food along in the digestive tract, veins and arteries as well as the tubular structures of the urinary tract. Massage increases the supply of blood and nutrients to muscles, restores tone and strength to muscles. It helps get rid of muscle adhesions due to illness or injury. It increases flexibility and strength in joints. Due to overuse muscles can stay contracted causing imbalance in the body. Tight muscles can constrict blood flow and will pull posture out of alignment. These problems can be corrected through massage by stretching and relaxing the muscle we increase flexability and encourage the muscle to return to its original length. When muscles work, they burn oxygen and glucose and produce lactic acid. A build up of lactic acid in the muscles will cause cramps and muscle soreness. Massage will remove the lactic acid and other waste products from the muscles relieving pain from that area. It will help reduce the formation of adhesions that occur due to overuse and general wear and tear, microscopic tears occur in the muscle fibres. If not treated these will be replaced by inelastic, s car tissue. We can adapt our massage moves to work into muscles to reduce their formation. Massage will improve muscle tone.Ã Ã Healthy muscles constantly contract and relax. Massage can improve the tone of the muscles of the inactive, bed ridden or paralyzed as they will have poor or no muscle tone. Massage relieves muscle cramps, increases flexibility and tone, reduce waste products within the muscle. Massaging the muscle with care during a cramp can help to reduce the duration of it. Effects on the Cardiovascular System Massage can improve circulation by assisting the flow of blood back to the heart. It helps dilate blood vessels helping them to work better. It improves blood flow through the veins by bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing waste products, toxins and carbon dioxide. It can temporarily lower blood pressure, due to dilation of capillaries. It can decrease the heart rate due to relaxation. It helps to reduce ischaemia which is a reduced in flow of blood to body parts, often painful with tissue dysfunction. It improves the return of blood in the veins.Ã Ã Blood has to continually works hard against gravity to return from feet back to the heart. We massage towards the heart to help the return of blood through the veins. (blood carried in the veins).Ã Massaging lowers blood pressure and has two positive effects on blood pressure, it will help the client relax and their heart rate decreases. Blood pressure is the pressure put on the artery wall each time blood passes through the artery. Massage slows the heart with fewer beats per minute reducing blood pressure. Respiratory System The respiratory system is comprised of the lungs and the passages that lead to and from them. This system begins at the nostrils and end at the lungs. It is in the lungs that oxygen from the outside meets the blood via the thin tissues in the lungs. Massage deepens breathing improving lung capacity by relaxing any tightness in the respiratory muscles. Massage on the body encourages deep breathing which increases lung capacity and increases our ability to take in more air. It improves breathing patterns, helping us to relax. Through deeper breathing we help to eliminate carbon dioxide, allowing increased oxygen to all body tissues. Massage can have soothing effects and aids in relief of many, long-term respiratory disease, such as asthma and bronchitis. On long term conditions like cystic fibrosis daily massage plays a vital role as it dislodges and expels mucus from the body keeping the airways clear. Breathing is slowed down as there is reduced stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system.Ã Ã When people are stressed they breathe rapidly and shallowly, not inhaling enough oxygen and not exhaling enough carbon dioxide. This means our blood is being deprived of oxygen to take throughout our body. Massage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which slows and deepens breathing. Massage improves posture which will also make breathing deeper. Massage stimulates the intercostal muscles which are attached to the ribs when contracted these muscles pull on the ribs, which expand the lungs to cause inspiration, improving the condition and tone of these muscles. Massage improves the exchange of gases in the body.Ã Throughout the body, there is an exchange of oxygen for carbon dioxide. This will be stimulated by massage. Effects on the Lymphatic System Excess fluid in the tissue is reduced during massage by increased lymphatic drainage and removal of waste from the system. Regular massage will increase white blood cells which may help to strengthen the immune system. In massage we drain lymph from the cells to the lymph nodes, this improves the circulation of lymph and the removal of toxins from the cells. Effects on the Urinary System The urinary system is mainly comprised of the kidneys, bladder and the urethra. It filters out toxins and certain waste products that the blood has taken from the cells. Massaging the kidneys can cleanse the blood and strengthens the urinary system. It speeds up the production of waste through the lungs, skin, blood and bowels. Due to increased circulation and lymph drainage from the tissues during massage we produce more urine that usual. Conclusion Massaging the body has a knock-on effect throughout all the systems of the body, bringing balance to the body, where it can repair and renew within the systems. Massage effects the body through manipulation of soft tissues with pressure and movement resulting in mechanical responses throughout the body. The nerves responding to stimulation causing reflex responses. By relaxing both body and mind, reducing anxiety/stress and making a person feel better, boosts self-esteem, positive thinking and improves body image and awareness leading to the client taking better care of their general health. There are different types of massage and these can be adapted to suit the specific needs of a persons health or well being. It can benefit all age groups and is now available in most beauty salons at a reasonable price.
